Ready for DTV? Local stations are not!!!

Daily Breefs 2 AWAB HEADER

Even though you have had months to prep for it, are you ready for the switch to Digital TV? Most likely not. If your waiting for both your local stations as well as satellite and or your cable company to be ready for the switch watch Saturday. Most local Idaho any way TV stations at least full powered stations wont be ready and even if they are able in Boise and metro areas , watch and see if your translator on top of the hill doesn't take until mid month to make the switch. Oh they say it'll be Saturday afternoon, but between piss poor weather and the fact that the big wigs at those stations do NOT CARE ABOUT RURAL Idaho, it'll be awhile. Now I could be wrong here, everything might go off without a hitch of the switch, but chances are your not going to get much if anything local news, weather and programming. After all it took both DirecTV and Dish to come to the party of local stations on their systems, nearly ten years. Of course it took our local stations nearly 15 years to convert to full digital operation. So watch and see. Of course local Low Power stations wont be effected since they are well LOW POWER stations. CH-39 out of Boise is one of those. Of course most will not care after all most of our visual entertainment from TV comes from other more cable type channels, but the locals are gone until July 1st. Now onto some other intel gathering. I saw on AD's shyt blog that as always the meth heads got it wrong again. In AD's blog it read by Anonomouse again that the money for the purchase(or-not) of the place in Bliss was coming from Sage. Not so. The money being obtained of which we as a club are putting up nearly 20% of is to put together the broadcasting station, not the place in Bliss. Money made by the station through advertising revenue would go to buy the place in Bliss and that purchase is still very shakey if it happens at all. The Radio/TV station for Rural Idaho will be erected in between Nampa and Caldwell Idaho, with sub stations in GF, Buhl, American Falls, and Arco Idaho. Long range plans also are looking at Wendover and Woodruff Utah. With TV station only in or near Montpelier Idaho. Again it proves AD and his shyt crew don't know everything. It's called Meth brain. Saw where a few rigs on my block got red tagged last night into early morning. Oops, can you say IMPOUND? Any mile Air Combat is on TV, so L8R Aviators,

It's Thursday

Daily Breefs 2 Now I could have said another manic Monday but I thought I'd refrain from that. Great weights are off my wings and I'm feeling much better. Although my jaw still smarts enuff and all the swelling is going down and I'm healing and although its difficult to say this, there was a positive side effect, not being able to intake fuel as fast as a C-5-A , which is helping me get to my goal of 175 pounds, total body weight and that's good since that means I can retrain and regain my GA , and that means getting back in the ayre. I want to thank my 2nd cousin Kim for flying me both to SLC to do business and then to Preston to the funeral for my cousin Janeen, then back here to GF. So not bad and again thanks Kim. On the flyte back this evening Kim and I were talking about how do we as the Wolf Pack, of the AyreWolvez recruit as well as just interest youth into the club? After all once we were young without direction, what about youth who look to the sky, for a career? Even to ag aviation to be a career? The Wolf Pack will soon begin intel gathering to gain some idea, of how many if there are at all, FFA or 4-H programs geared towards ag aviation or created for those interested in ag aviation. Before y'll go shaking your fingers think this. When part of the foundation of the AyreWolvez were looking at going trucking, without any youth groups into high gear hauling, that did not stop us in gathering together cb radio enthusiasts as well as those gearheads into vintage rigs, and creating the TeenAge Truckers Association 4-H club. So why not create a youth group to bring in those who wants to fly brought together as a 4-H or FFA chapter or course? I'll begin investigating that next week or so. Someone suggested elsewhere that they thought the Wolf Pack and/or I was not still looking at doing things to get us on TV on RFDTV. Wrong. That is still the main target through our cross hairs. But we have to have a place as well as the gear, not to mention the full staff in place to allow those seeds to germinate. So far while the field has been plowed and partly planted, I'm concerned about the fields that those seeds are in. GF is just not it, and even as great as both Hazzard and even the greater Gooding/Jerome County area is, there are not a ton and a half of broadcast experienced people to hire, nor any local training in any local institution of higher learning. The only place in Idaho where I can see that the field might be more enriched is the greater Boise area. But the major hold back is money. Not only the monthly rent on a space as well as close neighbors who might not be able to stomach a radio/tv station studio next door, but basic equipment to get on the air ain't cheap nether. The heart of any radio studio is the mixer consol. At the low end of the scale is a board or consol, from a company call ARRAKIS , which runs just a bit over $1,500.00 to really full featured boards that run in just under $20,000.00 . The furniture that makes up the rest of the infrastructure, along with mics, codecs, cd and dvd players and other audio processing gear and at minimum your looking at $50,000.00 just to get up to the point to launch the network into airspace. While there are inexpensive consumer and prosumer gear that get the thing up and flowing over Internet streaming and so on, to have anything on the cyberayre 24-7 365 on demand is going to take some serious examination of available talent, gaining some incoming sales revenue, along with some fund raising gigs. So even though the battle plan is to be in the Boise area by August 1st and even then the only real full time employee will be Becky, the real on ayre date is about March next year along with being on RFDTV by this time next year. We did not loose the war here, just did a retreat, to regroup and replan the attack. But attack we will. One of those fund raisers is a 2010/2011 24 month AyreWolvez/Warbyrd calendar. Which goes into basic prep production in July, then sell same at area ayreshows, The Western Idaho State Fair, the Eastern Idaho State Fair, Cassia County Fair, and the Twin Falls County Fair. As well as at AgriAction in February 2010 in Twinky Flatts . Any mile need to get some rest. Big day Friday. See ya'll later.

Just ignore them

AN AW AYRESHOT HEADER

Ah the sizzling sounds of summer, okay so not yet sizzling yet but if current weather patterns continue it wont be long now before it's serious in the fields. Something I miss but with everything else I reluctantly have handed most of the responsibilities of AyreWolf Aviation over to my nephew Brady, in Bountiful Utah so I can concentrate my full attention at getting me going towing this winter. When any of us I think are about ready to make a big decision and or purchase, we look at all aspects. Or at least should. Had I done so nearly a year ago , I surely would have never, ever moved out here at Glenns Ferry. No wonder this hut that I live in is such a bargain. More over to anyone thinking of buying it, I suggest you reconsider, since the place while nice on the surface has a lot to be done under the skin, not to mention the hidden critters living in its undercarriage. But I'll soon be shed of this lead and onto new things. While I still see some promise in the Trophy Club of GF, as a district HQ of the KOA/AyreWolvez I also think that the Bountiful SkyPark in Woods Cross/West Bountiful Utah would make the best entire organization HQ of the AyreWolvez and Boise for the HQ of the Knytes. As far as I'm concerned Idaho or at least this part of it has until December to mid January to germinate , if nothing starts taking root, then this Kountry Agviator is out of here, and I'll look to denouncing all Idaho connections except for the KOA . Is there a place that I'd be content? Yes but I'm beginning to think it ain't in either Idaho nor Utah, Georgia anyone? Any mile work day today, so need to hit the hay, see you all L8R Today,

Cloud Computing is the pits

AN AW AYRESHOT HEADER

Now ya'll I don't want ya'll to consider my noise here as gospel as my online and computer anything is limited at best. Hell I'm still trying to get the hang of cut and paste. My earliest computer experience came via a Compaq computer that ran one of the earliest versions of MS-DOS. No pictures , but it worked and best of all if it began having a problem all ya'll had to do was just turn the damn thing off. No drivers or such. But it worked. In 1995 I met a hot babe in Tooele Utah who introduced me to the fracking Internet via Win-95. Over the years I have learned many things , but by no means am I an expert when it comes to Computer anything, but I read alot and try to learn more. One of the issues I have been seeing a lot of press about is the concept of cloud computing, in essence using online services to store important documents. Of course the easy method is Windows Live as well as Google's Gmail. Both good but these outfits are not yet matured enough for business. I have also had my problems, with cloud computing, like if you can't get online or your connection is via wifi etc, you upload and download speed is marginal. Much less trying to retrieve a document or file can be a challenge. Sure metro areas offer greater access , but what about if your grounded in an area where I-net access is not as fast as perhaps in Boise or Salt Lake City. As far as my opinion online storage or as its called Cloud Computing has a long ways to go. Stay tuned.

Don't look now, but we have a taco crapper in the Supreme Court as a SC Judge HB2 Visas anyone?

BOOK OF WOLF AWAS1

Don't look now, but we are about to set a precedent. A chilly crapper is about to be appointed as a Supreme Court Justice. And its a woman to boot. Not complaining since our south of the border neighbors are good workers, and now days getting anyone to work, I mean really work, is a miracle if not a shining moment . But can we as a Confederate body accept putting anyone who is a foreign person in such an important job? More over if that foreign person is a female. Don't get me wrong women make up nearly 60% or better of this nations work force. Mexican/Americans are nearly 80% of employable workers in our nation, so the question is, are we as a society ready for this much change. This one needs to be studied very carefully. The reason is if issues regarding NAFTA etc crop up can our concerns be addressed fairly? The Tide binds. More Later Aviators,

Ever

AWAS1 ayretraxx header1

Ever go into a store and completely forget what the heck you went in there for? Or how about driving for miles to go somewhere and once you arrive there you forget what you went there for, or why? No I'm not getting absent minded or anything , but when too much data is fed into my biological CPU here lately it gets overloaded and I loose track of the mission . No wonder I mean lets look at my plate, which lately is purtty full. I begin my day usually with my nature walk on Black Mesa, where I can forget for an hour or so, modern life. I get back here to the Wolf's Den, grab my yogurt from the Corner Market that is if the Demon Daughter, is not there if so I roll over to the SouthSide Market. Any mile, I get my yogurt, go back to the Wolf's Den, eat. Then pyle into LiL Lexi, go over to the AyreShaq, get the flyte schedules for the day, arrange supplies, chemicals etc, load them on the support truck, Then I roll over to Bliss get coffee, and if it was just that great, but then its work on the intel duties of the Knytes, the AyreWolvez, and by lunch lately I'm near tuckered. But after lunch its assign duty to employees  here, then begin writing copy for the radio show, and selling ad time for same. Then from 18:00 to midnight its get on the air and if I'm damn lucky get though the night, get home, go over my email, then try to winde down to grab sleep. That's on the easy days. If there is an event coming up or a promotion plan up to at least a 15 hour day and running at near what I term warp speed, between the Hazzard Nationals rapidly approaching in September, DukesFest this month, plus getting ready to move into a new facility, training all the new hires, and you can see my days are where anybody could get fuggled up very easily. More L8R,

Nyte Flyte

AWAS1

Discussions of AyreWolvez things always rolls in at nyte. The reason is the President of the AyreWolvez Aviation Association is around the backside of the planet and his days are my nytes. And as such the only time I can chat is my nyte time as SatComm MCAS is only up for a very few hours a day on his side and I can only access it at nyte from my end so that's that on that. So we were talking, via SatComm, and the discussion of a states side op's station came up. To date only 3 stand out. Of those 3 only 2 are within my line of site, and f those 2 only 1 makes sense. Granted I'm out of GF residence wise come mid June. But should what brought me over here in the first place be tossed over? Sitting at 1st street and Commercial here in GF is an old bar/restaurant called the Trophy Club. While that would not be the prime thought to open such, why couldn't that same spot, be redone for our broadcast op's? TV station where the bar/cafe used to be, Radio station where the office spaces are now, and KNYTES-of-Anarchy HQ be upstairs? For the price of the whole damn block this would not be such of a bad thing. Now considering one of Sage's criteria for financial assistance is to provide jobs. While there wouldn't be a sizable amount still, on air, clerical , sales and tech jobs would in time enuff to wet a few's shorts. Now too in time , after the next election of city council members etc, reapproach the idea of renovating the towns aging airport, with the air service up-keep facility that we in the AyreWolvez had in mind to begin with. Just because I don't live in GF, does not mean that our OP'S station can't. While I think for the Knytes to have a sub station/office in Boise is important, still I also think that the AyreWolvez ought to be where we had in mind to begin with. Remember meeting on Monday at Ziggy's.

Open Ayre Thoughts

AWAS1 180px-Klingon_Empire_logo

So there I was servicing this C-130 at the AyreShaq and needing some nourishment trucked up to the Corner Market, fortunately the Demon Daughter was not there so got my grub and who shows up ? One of my ECSO Deputy friends, funny ain't it., Here I am supposedly the worst desperado of the County and yet get treated very well even as equals by most if not all ECSO employees. Even to the point of signing up to be one of those Citizens On Patrol volunteers. My I must be bad if the local law treats me good. Maybe the opinions of a few don't amount to a pyle of mole manure. From the KOA memo desk, please don't be pestering the folks at the shop in Bliss. The property is not ours until after the 7th of June. The former owners are getting stuff together to have an auction there on the 6th so we don't have to haul off as much junk. So just stay away from there until AFTER THE 7TH OF JUNE, 2009. Also the office spot in Boise, rescinded the admittance. Seems as though the old gal who had been renting it decided to stay. But the leasing agency has just as good a place over on Orchard, that will work. Becky, get in touch with me by Cell. I saved that today with a transfusion of cash to A.T.&.T. More in the AM,

If byrds can't hear, why do they make noise?

AN AW AYRESHOT HEADER

Outside the Wolf's Den here are these two Morning Doves that among several others are a soothing crooning that is both peaceful but disturbing at the same time. I have a suspicion that they have a nest close by. Upon some Googling and saw that from all research that Wikipedia said that byrds can't hear. Except for certain pitches or frequencies but really can't hear. If that is so why is it that most make noise. More-over can they hear us as humans? If so can they understand us and if they can do they know what we are saying or do they just perceive our vocal tones and inflections but not the verbiage and/or language? According to further research Wikipedia said that birds do not have a conical ear or ear drum . I do not think enough real research has been done here. I think that not only can birds hear, they can hear not only each other, birds of different species but also us . Not only can they hear, but understand us. These are the things I think about on my nature walks. Something I'm doing more of these days. I get up at 05:30 hours, roll up to Black Mesa and take a good walk. Where I don't have to hear or think of humans , or the mugwump race , but just critters. There is the ongoing perception that there is no such thing as the infamous Jackalope. I say on the surface no, but there is a species of Jack Rabbit, a bit larger than a standard Jack Rabbit, with a conical spire of hair out of both ears that appears like the antlers of a Antelope. Hence the name Jackalope.

Time to crap or get off the pot

AWAS1

There is a time to quit sqwaking and just do it. Case-n-point, for nearly what now 20 odd years we have been yapping that we need to do up a club web site, we get close but nothing happens. Close only counts in horshoes and grenades , we need to get this done. Granted we right now with Becky at the helm our chances for success are greater than we have had, but we still are just hovering rather than engaging and this hurts. Same thing for the TV stuff. Yes me moving away from Pocatello hurt us in that regard since having the resources of CH-12 at our beck and call was a plus, but if we start putting our money where our keyboards are we might just gain some credibility in the market place. Fortunately over the last 20 years we have not lost membership , but we are not gaining much if at all. 3 out of our strongest supporters are staying stagnant until we get our butts in gear. Just because I have lost some wind under my wings getting resettled does not mean the club needs to or should. The whole thing of our or at least a group, is its just that a group, not JUST ME!! With the up coming buy of the place in Bliss and all will mean I will have less time to devote to the operations of the club. I'll still be doing my part, but I'm handing off the majority of my daily efforts to Becky. She is much more knowledgeable in some of these things than I am. I need to get going towing, building scoots and rigs and next year back in the air. Another reason and I think it makes sense and will make more dollars than just cents is putting the HQ in Boise as planned , let Becky and the crew take the reins and run with it. It's only two hours, or maybe 3 in really bad weather from Bliss to Boise. We have hired people, I say , lets let them do their jobs and us to get at it. Let's get the web site bilt, lets get the TV ads done and on the TV, in essence shut the heck up and just do it. Any mile, ate something last night that is killing my innerds so I'm doing the race to the throne. Monthly meeting Monday, at Ziggy's. Cell phone is off until the 10th or so, but will have fixed landline, by the end of the week so sezz Qwest. By the way ; any of you have a way of killing flying ants? I'm infiltrated with them. When I screw the pooch I admit it!!

AN AW AYRESHOT HEADER

When I screw the pooch I at least will admit it. Last week faced with getting my cell phone cut off I got in touch with cuzzin Bud, he sent me money to pay it, but after going through a bunch of crap in MHI to cash the damn check I put it off and elected to wait until the 1st to pay the cell bill. By doing so, I'll pay the $47.00 plus $30.00 to put it back in service. So I messed up. I admit it, I got all caught up in the hype of the Bliss deal, and shrugged my responsibility. What I'm getting to here is this. This situation is no body's fault except mine. I blew it and no body is to blame except me. Phone comm, is not all lost however, landline goes in, in Bliss on the 28th and here in GF on the 29th, so all is not lost. But the goof up is my fault. Alrighty then. The Bliss HQ looks like its dead on, and looks to be something we in time can be proud of once renovated. But this is going to take time. Rome and as well as Bliss was not made in a day, heck even God, rested on the 7nth day. So I did so. All I know is the poverty line is getting slimmer, and the glimmer of real silver looks brilliant 20 miles east of where I am now. So in closing phone comm is down until after this week. Email will be operational likewise so will land line by the end of the week. No one is to blame here it was my goof, I screwed the pooch and that's enuff for now on that.

Lowe Flying Sunday

ayretraxx header1 AWAS1

It is a Lowe Flying Sundae here in Hazzard County. Danica Patrick came in 3rd at this years Indy-500 while I was pulling for her to take the win trouble in the pits was the slipped horse-shoe so there it was. Waiting for the start to this years big CC-600 in Concord NC, aka Lowe's SpeedWay , favorite Kurt Busche starts out way in the back of the pack, some are favoring DE, Junior but I think Kurt's brother Kyle will take the flag, will report later on the results. So needed asswipe so trucked up to the Corner Market, wouldn't you know it, the demon daughter and that certain city council member there comparing notes. In essence two good book-ends, Mr & Mrs. Anonomouse blabber mouths , together. Ironic ain't it? Going flying Monday, second seat style with a tech from APM in Jerome, Idaho. Still need to get down 125 pounds to get my med cert. to finish getting my own FAA/GA tag. Finally found a shell of a B-222H in Oregon, going up next Tuesday to snag that and haul back to APM for the build. AWAVI is getting closer to being real. Any mile the race is to start, so bidding good numbers until later.

Fly safe,
